Wiley Joseph Cantrell

Wiley Joseph “Joe” Cantrell, 76, of Tye, Texas passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was born December 10, 1946 to James Wiley and Alma (Clendenen) Cantrell in Burnet, TX.

Joe graduated from Abilene High in 1963. He was married to Linda Gail (Morris) Cantrell July 14, 1967 in Merkel, Texas. He was a US Navy Vietnam Veteran and afterwards he spent his life working on and driving trucks for 20 years. He enjoyed dirt track racing and worked part-time at Abilene Dirt Track. While he wasn’t doing that he was either tinkering with things, working on RC cars, or watching the Las Vegas Raiders.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda, brother Steve Cantrell, and brother-in-law Clifford Todacheeny.

Joe was survived by his son Joseph Cantrell of Chicago, IL, Scottie Cantrell and wife Tina of Bossier City, LA, sisters Judy and husband Elton Cody of San Angelo, Jean Todacheeny of Cortez, CO, brother Dan Cantrell and wife April of Robert Lee, and sister-in-law Linda Cantrell of Pineville, AR, grandchildren Cierra, Trystian, Valarie, and Elizabeth, and one great-grandchild Jack.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 6 -8 PM at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Service will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00AM at the Tye Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
