Vernon Doyal Davis Sr. ,76, of Tye Texas, beloved husband, father, and Papa, the lover of all the treasures received his ultimate treasure in Heaven on October 23, 2024.
Vernon was born, August 24, 1947, to Leonard Davis and Pauline Shockley in Cheyenne Oklahoma. He was the fourth of ten kids. At 15 Vernon left home to join his older brothers in Tye, TX, where he would make his home. Vernon started his family with his then wife Shirley in 1966, with the birth of his first daughter Vicki followed by the births of his daughter Michelle and first son Buster.
Vernon married the love of his life Sheri Wight Davis, on September 23, 1977 in Abilene TX. Vernon and Sheri added two more sons Jason and Joel to their family, and together they raised the five kids in that little yellow house by the Tye Grocery that Vernon and his brothers rolled together to make a home. He selflessly supported his family working primarily in the oil and gas industry.
He was a proud resilient man of God and was the epitome of strength. His mischievous grin and caring heart will be missed by all who knew him.
