Tim Walker

Tim Odell Walker, 83, of Merkel, TX, passed away on November 22, 2024 in Abilene, TX.

Tim was born in Seagraves, TX to Loyd Franklin Walker and Cleo Fay Tedford on June 07, 1941. He married Nelda Kay Lynn on August 02, 1964 in Spur, TX.  He worked as an electrician. He was a veteran and served in the Army.  Tim was a member of the Church of Christ in Merkel and a member of the Central Texas Gem & Mineral Society.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jackie Ausbern and Charles Walker, his infant son Robert Lynn Walker and his granddaughter Becca Marra.

Tim is survived by his wife of sixty years, Nelda Walker, daughter Laurie Coles, son Michael Walker and wife Tammie, and son Benjamin Walker, sisters Linda Owen, Twoila Myers and husband John, Rhonda Terrell and husband Kenny, brothers Gayland Ausbern and Michael Walker and wife Mary, numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren as well as many others they helped raise.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons and others.

Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Merkel Church of Christ, 700 Ash St, Merkel, TX 79536.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm at the same location.  Funeral services will be conducted by family and friends. 

Graveside burial will immediately follow at the Buffalo Gap cemetery in Buffalo Gap, TX.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Merkel Church of Christ Tuesday/Thursday school or Kitchen Fund.
