Obituary

Thressa Michele Lambert, affectionately known as Trey, passed away on Monday, July 31st, 2023, in Merkel, TX, at the age of 46. Trey was born in Stamford, TX, to her loving mother, Helena Centner. She grew up and attended school in Merkel.

In May of 1998, Trey married the love of her life, Brian Lambert, at the First Baptist Church in Merkel, TX. She worked at Meek Blood Center until 2009 when she became an Army wife, embracing the life of adventure and service that awaited her. Over the years, Trey lived in many places, including Hamlin, Merkel, Tye, Abilene, Killeen, and El Paso TX, as well as Colorado Springs, CO, spreading her warmth and compassion to those she encountered.

Trey was a creative soul who found joy in crafting, cooking, and baking. She held a special place in her heart for Disney World, having visited the magical place twice. Baby Yoda, Lilo and Stitch, Toothless, and Tigger were some of her favorite characters, and her sweet tooth was legendary. Trey had a deep love for turtles and cherished the color lime green.

Her nurturing and caring nature extended beyond her immediate family as Trey played an instrumental role in raising her nieces and nephews, showering them with love and support. She was fiercely protective of her family and friends, always standing by their side through thick and thin. Trey had a remarkable sense of humor, and her knack for finding or creating the perfect gift was unmatched.

Trey leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. She is survived by her beloved husband, Brian Lambert, her brothers, JR Aich and Jason Centner, numerous nieces and nephews, exchange student kids, and her fur baby, Zeus, who brought her much joy.

Trey was preceded in death by her grandmother, Francis Centner, her brother, Richard Aich, and her mother, Helena Centner, whose love and guidance shaped Trey into the wonderful person she was.

A celebration of Trey’s life will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 am, at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel, TX. Together, we will honor her memory and the mark she left on our lives.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to two of Trey’s favorite charities in her name: ASPCA and ourrescue.org. These causes were dear to her heart, and your contribution will honor her passion for helping those in need.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember the words from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch: “Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.” Trey will forever be in our hearts, and she will never be left behind or forgotten.
