Steven "Steve" Greg Anderson

Steven Greg Anderson "Steve" 62 years old of Merkel, TX passed away on May 11th in Merkel, TX.

Steve was born in Levelland, TX to Wayne and Lois Anderson on February 11th, 1964. He went to school at Hawley and graduated from Hawley High School. He married the love of his life, high school sweetheart on September 7th, 1985 in Truby, TX at the "Big Orange Barn". They had two daughters, Kyla and Justina. He worked 20+ years for Crown Cork and Seal and eventually retired. Steve enjoyed going to see the Texas Rangers, watching Nascar, and raising goats. He liked spending time with his family. His most rewarding lifetime achievement is being known as "Grumps" to his twin granddaughters, Everlee and Raelynn, and his grandson, Decklan.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Lois Anderson, sister Dorothy, paternal grandparents Dan and Agnes Anderson of Rule, TX. Maternal grandparents Jack and Levi Ussery of Ralls, TX. His father in law Butch Barker of Hodges, TX. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Angie Barker Anderson of Merkel, TX. Daughter Kyla (Matthew) Rall and grandson Decklan of Fort Worth, TX. Daughter Justina (Raymond) Beattie and twin granddaughters, Everlee and Raelynn, of Crandall, TX. Sister Vickie (Ricky) Young of Merkel, TX. Sister Gwen (Larry) Swonger of Weatherford, TX. Brother Daniel Anderson of Abilene, TX.  Mother in law Janelle Barker of Hodges, TX and brother in law Ran Barker of Hodges, TX. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be Stetson Gartman, Larry Swonger, Gage Thomas, Ricky Soto, Jimmy Faulks and Morgan Campbell.

Funeral services will be held May 16th at 10:00 am at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel, TX with Nathan Knight officiating. Visitations will be Friday, May 15th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel, TX. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
