Shelly R. Hicks (Bratton), 54, passed away on March 2, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. Born on November 17, 1970, in Taylor County, she was the beloved daughter of Milton Bratton and Sharon Campbell.
Shelly graduated from Moran High School, American Commercial College in 1992, and McMurry University in 2008 with a major in Bachelor's in art/art studio.
She is survived by her three cherished daughters: Ariel, Taylor, and Lauren, and her five beloved grandchildren: Athena, Holly, Sophia, Luna, and Christopher. Shelly also leaves behind her dear siblings: Kenneth, Jimmy, Amanda, and Candy. She is fondly remembered by her ex-husband, Shawn Hicks, who remained a significant part of her life. All who knew her will forever cherish her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.
Shelly devoted her life to being an extraordinary mother, grandmother, friend, and artist. She will always be remembered for her outgoing personality and her deep love for helping others. Her immeasurable impact on family and friends leaves a lasting legacy of love and devotion.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel, with Roger Rister of Old School Ministry, officiating. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Shelly’s doctors, Hendricks Medical Center, and Hendricks Hospice for their compassionate care over the years.
