Scott James Lanphear, age 51, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Abilene, TX. He was born on August 8, 1969 in Oswego, NY to Frank Lanphear and Barbara Jane (Barney). He graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, TX.

Scott was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend. He was bigger than life and had a contagious smile. Scott was a people person and could find humor in anything. He adored his nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by many.

Those left to cherish his memory are his step-dad: John Scruton of Merkel; father: Frank Lanphear (Sally) of Fulton, NY; brothers and sisters: Lee Lanphear (Beverly Nowacki) of Tuscola, Tammy Johnson of Cleveland, NY, Patti Downing (Deb Downs) of Tuscola, Annette Cocchiaro (Ian) of Buffalo Gap and Wanda Lanphear (Ron Gray) of Merkel; and his extremely special nieces and nephews.

He is reunited in Heaven with his mother: Barbara Jane Scruton; brother: Frankie Lanphear (twin to Lee Lanphear) and beloved companion “Chopper”.

Scott’s wishes were to be cremated.
