Rebecca Addy

Rebecca (Becky) Santee Addy, of Austin Texas, passed away peacefully March 21st, 2023 surrounded by family in Abilene, Texas.  

Rebecca was born in Tampa, Florida to Thomas and Eleanor Santee on March 30, 1956. As a military child, her family moved around a lot, but eventually resided in Merkel, Texas where she graduated from Merkel High School, class of 1974. She was married to William R. Addy on August 11, 1990 in Austin, Texas, where they resided in Austin as avid Texas Longhorns fans.  When they weren’t in Austin, you could catch them at their favorite place, the beach of Port A. Rebecca worked as a Senior Medical Staff Recruiter at Evins Personnel for many years and was very proud of her career. She enjoyed playing wahoo, sewing and was a great cook. Most of all she enjoyed her time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, always trying to make their sporting events and various activities.  

Rebecca was preceded in death by her loving husband, William (Bill) Addy, and her parents, Thomas and Eleanor Santee.  

Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Sheena Marciel and husband, Daniel West of Merkel, Texas. Son, Willie Holmes and wife, Cassandra Holmes of Merkel, Texas. Daughter, Krista Holmes of Winters, Texas. Daughter, Candy Reed and husband, Kenneth Reed of Round Rock, Texas. Daughter, Michelle Hansen of Round Rock, Texas. Daughter, Cindy Clem of Round Rock, Texas. Son, Chris Clem of Austin, Texas.  2 brothers, Dan and Stephen Santee, and 4 sisters, Renee McClure, Audrey Santee, Suzette Taylor, and Tomie Santee. She had 23 grandkids and 12 great-grandkids. She also had numerous nieces and nephews that she adopted as her own grandkids.  

Pallbearers will be Daniel West, Kenneth Reed, Carter Williams, Jerrid Long, Dylan Simpson, and Taegan Abrams.  

Visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, March 23rd with the Rosary at 6pm at Starbuck’s Funeral Home Chapel in Merkel, Texas.  Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 24th at Rose Hill Cemetery with Father Sosa. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
