Ralph Edward Harness
November 13, 1955 – January 16, 2021
With gratitude to God (1Thes. 5:8) for a life well spent, we announce the Transition to Glory of Ralph Edward Harness. A loving husband, son, father, brother, cousin, friend and Minister. He made a glorious exit on Saturday, January 16th, 2021 at the age of 65. He was born to Prince Edward Harness and Mary Louise Harness, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Ralph grew up in Hammond, Louisiana and moved to Abilene, Texas in the early 1970s. He attended Woodson High School, Cisco College and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Germany and England. Thereafter, he worked at Woods, Harmony, Ramada, and The Whitten Inn. In 1985 he began to profess his faith in Christ through love and selfless service. He was a dad as well as a father-figure. He lifted others through prayers, his presence and patience.
He will be continuously loved by his wife Josephine Okwudi, mother Mary Harness, siblings Frederick (Nam -Suk), Joyce Ann, Faye (Arthur), Ronald, children Takiyah (Femi), Jamila (Elisha), Shani (Davie), Kandon (Vanessa), Jerry, Anwar (Maria), Corey, Molly, and Meghan, grandchildren and relatives.
He is preceded in death by father Prince Harness, wife Joyce Harness, siblings Nolan, Ricky, Gwendolyn, and son-in-law: Davie Marion.
Graveside Service will be held at 1 pm, Tue, Jan 26th, 2021 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm, Tue, Jan 26th 2021 at His Way Ministries of Faith located at 1027 N. 2nd Merkel TX 79536.
