Patricia Ann Hester

Patricia Ann Hester of Merkel, Texas passed away on December 13, 2025 in Merkel, Texas.

Patricia was born Patricia Ann McDuff on March 6, 1954 in Abilene, Texas to parents Joe and Patsy McDuff. She went to school in Merkel and graduated from Merkel High School and Hardin Simmons University.

She married Jimmy Hester on June 1, 1974 in Merkel, Tx. She worked as a legal secretary for 35 years, she was also a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church in Abilene, Tx.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jarod Scott Hester. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Hester, one son Galen Thomas Hester, and two granddaughters, Atticus and Roslin.

Pallbearers will be Danny Jones, Bill Jones, Ray Young, Steve Letz, Jacky Reynolds, and Willie Gibson.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Crescent Heights Baptist Church in Abilene, Tx with Brother Rudy Fambrough officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Tx.

Memorial may be given to Crescent Heights Baptist Church in Abilene. The family of Patricia wishes to recognize the excellent care given to her by Judy Gibson and crew and Kinder Hearts Hospice.
