Pat (Moody) Buckley

Pat Moody Buckley, a longtime Abilenian, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2023, at the age of 89. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Pat was born in Abilene, Texas on October 29, 1933 to Sue Alexander Moody and James McKinley Moody. She attended Central Elementary School, South Junior High, and graduated from Abilene High School in 1952. She attended McMurry College in the fall of 1952. Pat married Richard Buckley on December 28, 1952 in Abilene. During her marriage, they briefly moved to Lamesa, Texas for Richard to coach football and then ultimately moved back to Abilene to start a family and become a homemaker.

Pat was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a true lady and a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Pat was a past member of the Abilene Woman’s Club, 20th Century Study Club, and a long-time member of the Harvester’s Sunday school class at the First Methodist Church.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Buckley in 2004 and her brother, Bobby Mack Moody in 2017.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Davis (Matt), a son, Rusty Buckley (Paula); grandchildren: Blake Fuller (Kelly), Hunter Fuller, Maddye Davis, Allye Davis, Bryan Buckley (Nichole), and Heather Davis (Kevin), and (4) great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nephew, Danny Reynolds (Vicki), Jacob Reynolds (Rachael), and Jared Reynolds (Laura).
