Otis Lee Davis, age 76, passed from this life on September 16, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center South. He was born on November 15, 1944 in East Liverpool, OH. He was retired and worked as a City Water Manager in Trent for many years and was also the Chief of the Trent Volunteer Fire Department for over 18 years.
Otis, also known as “Oddie” or “PaPa”, was a loving and caring family man who always put family first and foremost. He was very giving and generous and had a huge heart. Otis enjoyed fishing, hunting, going on family trips and was an amazing story teller. He was a collector of many things and could build anything. Otis proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was loved dearly and will be sorely missed.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Beverly Davis of Trent, TX; three sons: Wayne Johnson and wife Lesa of Ballinger, TX, Roy Johnson and wife Melissa of Merkel, and Billy Allen Davis and wife Birdie of Texline,TX; one daughter: Yvonne Chaney and husband Donnie of Amarillo; sister: Melita Scee and husband Robin of Florida; brothers: Otto Davis and wife Sue of Forest, VA and Daniel Davis of California; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Otis was also survived by his beloved Chihuahua fur baby: Allie Mae.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons: Britton and Little Billy.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7PM, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Starbuck Funeral Home. Graveside rites with military honors will take place at 10:30AM, Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Trent Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Otis’s memory can be made to the Trent Volunteer Fire Department of the Trent Cemetery Association Fund.
