Murel Deen Thompson

Murel Thompson, 94 years young, of Lavon Texas, passed away on Sunday March 5,2023 in Rockwall Texas.

Murel was born In Limestone County to Eugene Berkley Thompson and Jo Gracie Thompson on October 30, 1928. She married Emmett Truett Thompson on September 19,1946 in front of the Justice of the Peace in Taylor County. She was involved in The Merkel Garden Club, Eastern Star, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Merkel.

Murel Thompson was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Truett Thompson, Truett Wayne Thompson and Lisa Renee Thompson. Murel is survived by Daughter-In-Law Cheryl Thompson, Granddaughter Shannon Elisha Thompson, Grandson Brian Wayne Thompson his wife Jennifer Thompson, 3 great grandchildren, Jessa Renee Thompson, Benjamin Truett Thompson, and Brody Wayne Thompson.

Visitation will be on Friday March 10,2023 from 5:00-7:00pm at Starbucks Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11:00am March 11th at Rose Hill Cemetery with Jacky Reynolds officiating. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Family Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to one of the following organizations: Dementia Association, Heart Foundation, Diabetes Foundation, or Susan B. Komen Foundation. The family of Murel Thomspon wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Angel Valley Hospice of Dallas Texas.
