Mozetta Love Dye Youngers, age 90, of Merkel, Texas passed away on January 20, 2026 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
Mozetta was born in Anson, Texas on May 18, 1935 to Joseph and Ruthie Key Love. She started school at Anson Jones Elementary. She graduated from Anson High School in 1954. She married Robert Eugene (Bob) Dye on January 28, 1956 at the family home in Abilene. She worked for Hendrick Hospital for 2 years, University Drug for 2 years and Timex for several years. After moving to Merkel she worked for Wilson Grocery, owned and operated the Badger Den (1970). In the early 1980's she bought a convenience store, Handy Food Store. In 1988, Handy Food Store (supermarket) was opened and she owned and operated it until she retired in 1996.
After her husband, Robert Eugene, passed on November 6, 1990 she married her second husband, Frank Augustus Youngers, on December 5, 1992 at the Merkel Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Dye on November 1990, parents Joseph (1994) and Ruthie Love (1991), sister Mable Ruth Love Bauer (2006) of Abilene, brother William Joe Love (January 31, 2012) of Bangs, her mother in law and father in law Rubin (1983) and Mittie Hensley Dye (1990) brother in law Billy Wayne Dye Jr. (June 30, 1999) and Patricia Dye (2022) brother in law Clifford Lee Dye (1927) her grandson Clifford Lee Dye Jr. (July 16, 2012) her second husband Frank Youngers and Roger Dye. Also her long time friends June Price and Billie Friend of Hawley and Bonnie English of Merkel.
She is survived by her son's Clifford Lee Dye and wife Tracy of Abilene and Harold Eugene Dye and wife Darlene of Trent, Texas, her grandson Kenneth Lee Dye and wife Ali, two great grandsons Rocky and Ripley Dye, her sister Charlotte Gayle Love Rynders and husband Ray of Abilene, nephew Donald Wayne Dye and wife Tracie of Hawley and nephew Kevin Key of Abilene, nieces Diana McKencie, Judy Parker, nephew Steve Dye all of Kerrville, Texas, Carson Rynders and wife Candace, Jennifer Rynders of Abilene, and a slew of great nephews and nieces. Also, her best friend and caregiver Clyde Butler of Sweetwater/Trent, Texas.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Lee Dye, Donald Wayne Dye, Richard Beaver, Steve Dye, Carson Rynders and Shane Kinikin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Clyde Butler and Derrick Dye.
Visitation will be Monday, January 26, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm at Starbuck Funeral Home, 1022 N. 2nd St, Merkel, Texas.
Funeral services will be 2pm, Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Merkel Church of Christ, 700 Ash St, Merkel, Texas, with Trent Church of Christ minister, Freddie Famble officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to Merkel Cemetery Association, The Heart Association, Trent Church of Christ and Merkel Church of Christ.
