Melba Jean Payne, 82, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her home in Clyde, Texas with her son Troy Lee Payne and Daughter-in-law Melissa Hollis.
Melba was born on April 16, 1939. She worked for Dairy Queen in Merkel, Texas for 17 years and home health care for 20 years. She was a hard worker and was always helping others. She loved to laugh Joke and making other people happy. She left behind her dog names Daisy. She loved to watch The Young And The Restless, Hallmark Channel, Criminal Minds, and CSI.
Melba is preceded in death by her husband Rhonald Lee Payne; her parents Cecil and Bertha Bleeker; brothers A.J. Bleeker, and Melvin Bleeker; and sister Barbara Levy.
She is survived by her son Troy Lee Payne of Clyde, Texas; daughter Rhonda LaJean Payne of Merkel; Wayne and Rachel Bleeker of Abilene, Texas, Kenneth and Kathy Bleeker of Coupland, Texas,Delbert and Shirley Bleeker of San Antonio, Texas, Carol Bylander of Abilene, Texas, Alice Williams of Valley Mills, Texas, Gerald and Doreen Bleeker of Manchester, New Hampshire, Kevin and Linda Tooley of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughter Christine Richardson; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Starbuck Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Trent First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Trent Cemetery.
