Mary Rebecca Rogers, 100, of Merkel, Texas, passed away on March 12 in Abilene, Texas.
Mary Rebecca “Becky” Rogers was born in Bicknell, Indiana to Chester Benton and Laura Pearl Gardner in December 1924. She went to school in Merkel, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas at Denton. She worked as a Teacher in the El Paso School District until her retirement. She was involved in the Merkel Area Historical Society, Fortnightly Study Club, and the First Central Presbyterian Church.
Becky was preceded in death by her second husband Perry W. Rogers, her first husband Larwrence M. Davis, sister Wilma P. Gardner, son Chester Gardner Davis, and granddaughter Apple Davis-Willis.
Becky is survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Texas with Pastor Cliff Stewart of First Central Presbyterian Church, officiating. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
