Marlene Windham Watts, 82, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Marlene Windham was born in the west end of Mulberry Canyon on May 5, 1936. She was the oldest of six children to Buddy Windham and Orene (Berry) Windham.
She loved her family and friends. She liked to laugh and liked people with a sense of humor.
Marlene was blessed with three wonderful children, Vicki Avants, Steve Williams, and Daryl Peel. She is also survived by four grandsons Cody and Chris Avants, and Brennan and Brad Peel; great grandchildren Reagan, Ryan, and Ava Grace Avants ; sisters Bobbye, Carolyn and Linda and brother Larry. She is also survived by her longtime friend and mentor Lorene Beason of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her sister Kathy.
She loved the Lord, arts, crafts, and decorating. She also loved to read and write. She enjoyed Gospel Music and country especially Garth Brooks and George Jones.
She was a member of the Avoca Methodist Church where she loved and appreciated the congregation.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Merkel. Burial will follow at White Church Cemetery very near to where she was born. She will be laid to rest next to her deceased husband Grady Avants. Arrangements are under the directions of Starbuck Funeral Home.
