Marilyn Giles

Marilyn Fae Liles Giles, 84, of Merkel passed away April, 15, 2021 at her home. She was born July 10, 1936 to LP and Mary Lucreasy Patterson Liles in Merkel. She graduated from Merkel High School in 1954, and was a life-long resident of Merkel. Marilyn married the love of her life, Carl Giles, on November 17, 1961, and enjoyed over 57 years of marriage before his death in 2019. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister Meldene Liles; and husband Carl Giles. Marilyn is survived by her children Liz Lemons(Curt) of Gardendale, Texas, Lesa Shirley(Mike of Merkel, Texas, Brian Giles of Midland, Texas, Mark Giles of Merkel, Texas and Beth Giles of Merkel, Texas; grandchildren Holly Cannon(Scotty), Sarah Morgan (Joey), Katy Bownds(Austin), Hannah Lemons all of Gardendale, David Craig(Kristi) of Crowley, Brittainy Saddlemire(Matt) of Abilene, Cole Shirley(Hailey) of Abilene, Kaleigh McNutt(Ryan) of Merkel, Gus Shirley(Tim) of Merkel, Mitchell Giles of Ft Bragg, North Carolina, Shane Giles of Brock, Lauren Askew(JW) of Albany, and Kevin Giles of Abilene; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00PM Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Starbuck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 19, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Merkel.
