Luis Morin Garza, Jr.

Luis Morin Garza Jr. 72 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on the morning of July 27, 2021. Luis was born on October 17, 1948 at his family home in Colorado City, Tx to Santana (Morin) and Luis T. Garza Sr. Luis was the youngest of six children and the only son. He and his sisters were all taught the importance of family and the value of hard work. Luis started his ginning career at the early age of 15. When he was 19 he met the love of his life Belen Garza in Loraine, Tx. They married on June 22, 1969 and settled in Colorado City, where they made a home for their two beautiful daughters Angelita and Adelita. They recently celebrated 52 years of marriage this June. Luis retired from ginning in 2019 and spent his free time with his loving wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He also loved spending time at home watching westerns on his big screen TV and taking naps. Luis is survived by his beloved wife Belen, his daughters Angelita Chacon and husband Ruperto of Merkel; Adelita Trevino and her husband Tony of Abilene; 6 grandchildren Ian, Kaleb, Avery, Brandon, Layne, and Mateo. His sisters Lupe Garza of Corpus Christi, Aurora Martinez of Pearsall, Corina Sauceda and husband Severiano of Ballinger, Cruz Adame of Florida, and many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law. Luis is preceded in death by his son Lupe, his parents Luis and Santana Garza, and his sisters Gregoria Munos and Maria Garza. There will be a Rosary recited at 5:00PM Friday, July 30, 2021 at Starbuck Funeral Home, visitation will follow the Rosary until 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Merkel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Special thanks to Hendrick-Hospice Care especially Misty, his nurse who showered him with love, kisses, and donuts. We are eternally grateful.
