Linda Kay Emmerson

Linda Kay Emmerson of Merkel, Texas, passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on November 27, 1940, in Merkel, Texas.

Linda lived a full life, surrounded by her loving family and strengthened by her faith. She was a God-fearing woman who loved to talk with anyone, at any time. Those who knew her will always remember the words her Husband Jimmie often said: “Tell a Grammy, tell a phone.” Linda’s warmth, kindness, and faith created a lasting comfort in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to be around her.

Wherever Linda lived, she kept a beautiful home, and her house always felt like home to others. She believed in an open door and an open heart, always making room for anyone and everyone, no matter who they were.

Linda is survived by her two sons, Phil Emmerson and Ciff Emmerson; her three grandchildren, Brittany Vander Poel, Andrew Emmerson, and Connor Emmerson; and her five great-grandchildren.

Linda will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered for her faith, her caring spirit, her welcoming heart, and the home she built wherever she went.
