Larose Arrington

Joy Larose Arrington passed away at home the morning of April 12, 2021. Larose was born August 12, 1932 in Merkel, Texas to Loyd and Lela Perry. Larose met her lifetime mate, Melvin Arrington, in Abilene, Texas, where they married and began their life together. Wherever Southwestern Bell took them they were active in their church as well as the many activities they enjoyed together. Larose was a wonderful cook and shared this gift through food ministries of her church family. Larose was preceded in death by her husband Melvin L. Arrington and her brother Lanny Perry. Larose is survived by son, Richard Arrington and wife Lisa; two daughters, Brenda Turnbow and husband Rick, and daughter Cathy Oller; three granddaughters, Lesli Kovic and husband Jay, Staci Shannon and husband Mark and Chelsi Wardlow and husband Jeremy; and four great-grandchildren, Tessa and Cort Shannon and Easton and Grayson Kovic. Larose was a long-time member of the Merkel Church of Christ and recently a member of the Baker Heights Church of Christ in Abilene. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Starbucks Funeral Home in Merkel, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. April 15, 2021 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
