Juanita Bodine passed from this life to life eternal on Thursday February 18, 2021. She is survived by one sister, Ila Green of Mt. Ida, AR; five children: Ava Caliendo of Houston, TX, Nita Williams & Mark Mills of Burleson, TX, Audie Bodine & Star Anders of East Moline, IL, Elane & Eric Wright of Belton, TX and Wayne & Melissa Bodine of Merkel, TX. She has 9 surviving grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gene Bodine in 1988 and her grandson John Waymon Bodine in 2019. Juanita was a faithful and loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was born in Fannie, Arkansas on July 31, 1933. She grew up in Montgomery County, Arkansas but following her marriage lived in Texas, Arkansas and Arizona over the years. She worked for many years as a cook and kitchen supervisor at the Merkel Nursing Home, a job which she really loved. She loved to cook, crochet and quilt. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Temple, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00PM Friday, February 26, 2021 at Starbuck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel, Texas, officiated by The Reverend Doctor Thomas Allen. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Rose Hill Cemetery Association at 201 Edwards St, Merkel, TX 79536
