Jose Perez Jr.

José Perez Jr., 41, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on June 24, 2023 in Abilene, Texas.

Jose was born in Abilene, Texas to Cindy Gutierrez and Jose Perez Sr. on May 1, 1982. He went to school in Joliet, Illinois as well as Merkel, Texas. He graduated from Merkel High School in 2000. He worked as a line cook for Cottonpatch for eight years.

Jose was preceded in death by grandfather Harrison Davis, grandmother Marion Davis, grandfather Alfonso Perez, and grandmother Victoria Perez.

Jose is survived by his brothers: Joseph Christensen, Ruben Perez, Tony Gutierrez, Edgar Gutierrez, sisters: Stephanie Perez, Angelica, Perez, and Cheryl Grace Perez. Mother Cindy Gutierrez and stepdad Jose Gutierrez, and Father Jose Perez Sr. 

Pallbearers will be Ruben Perez, Tony Gutierrez, Edgar Gutierrez, Adriel Perez, Aiden Jackson and Zeke Perez

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Starbuck Funeral Chapel with Randy Estes of Victory Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Starbuck family funeral home.
