An amazing, beautiful, caring soul was taken home to Heaven, April 22, 2025. Jolyn Ham, better known as “Jojo” passed away in Abilene, Tx at the very young age of 59 years old. She was reunited with both her parents.
Jolyn Ham was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 29, 1965. Her loving parents, Billie Lee Ham and Joyce Gene Sowell brought her home to complete their family, Jojo was the youngest of 4 girls (Kathryn, Teresa, and Laura). They moved a lot as families do. California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas which is where she settled at. She was always filled with Love and Joy. As a child, she declared herself to be “Jo The Great!”, which fit her without a doubt, because she was the oner her sisters counted on to ask permission to go out and have fun. Her favorite past time then and until she passed was spending time with her family and friends.
Jojo met the love of her life, Domingo Luna in the early 80’s at the Wes-T-Go Truckstop. She was known for her delicious food and one-of-a-kind personality and big, beautiful smile by the truckers, locals, and co-workers. December 3, 1984, Jojo and Mingo added a baby girl to their family, Laura Ann Luna. Jolyn didn’t graduate from high school but was in the top 5 of her class when she went back for her G.E.D. August 22, of every year for 43 years Jojo and Mingo celebrated their anniversary. They loved each other unconditionally through life’s ups and downs. They raised and bred Chows and many other fur babies with lots of love.
Jolyn is survived by husband, Domingo Luna, her daughter Laura Ann Luna, (adopted daughter) Danielle Steele (Teddy Weaver), stepdaughter Amy Jo Luna, brother Blu, grandkids Dylan Claxton, Seth Claxton, Jacob Miller Jr, Victoria Pippin, Domingo Miller, Scarlett Rogers, Carrington Rogers, Juilana Rogers, Xavien Rogers, Chad Steele, Kassandra Page, Rainie Murphy and Jason Murphy; sisters Kathryn Walton, Teresa & Robert Stelly and Laura & Cliff Graham and many nieces, nephews and lots of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Billie Lee Ham and Joyce Gene Ham, brother-in-law Kenneth Rex Walton, mother-in-law Pauline Luna and son-in-law David Allen Claxton.
