Jo Ann Malone

Jo Ann Malone, age 82, passed from this life on August 28, 2021 at Hendrick Hospice in Abilene. She was born on November 2, 1938 in Merkel, TX to Robert Thomas Malone and Opal Maxine (Buzbee) Malone.

Jo Ann was a homemaker for much of her life, but also worked as a substitute teacher in Merkel and was also a volunteer at the Betty Hardwick for the Suicide Prevention program.  In her younger days, Jo Ann enjoyed golfing and swimming.  She had a huge heart and touched many lives throughout her time on earth.  She will be missed dearly by family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Dusti Crawford and husband Steve of Abilene, and Windi Fowler and husband Royce of Merkel; one brother: Robert “Bob” Thomas Malone II and wife Sandy of Cleveland, TN; her grandchildren: Kleesy Thomas and husband Josh and their children: Leo, Ben and Danny, Rainy Laughlin and husband Chad and their children: Kal and Chainy, and Alley Neff and husband Cameron and their child: Reece; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; her beloved caretaker of over 4 years: Tonya Carey and husband Robert; and precious pets Xena and Catness.
