Jimmie Leon Emmerson, a devoted man of God and a beacon of selflessness, passed away on October 17, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. Born on June 3, 1942, in Tulare, California, Jimmie lived a life marked by unwavering dedication, humility, and quiet strength.
Throughout his life, Jimmie was known for his tireless work ethic. He inspired those around him with his steadfast commitment to doing what was right and helping others whenever he could. Whether through acts of service or simple gestures of kindness, he consistently put the needs of others before his own. His spirit remained unshaken by adversity, and he approached each day with gratitude and purpose.
Jimmie found joy in the everyday moments that many might overlook. One of his favorite pastimes was mowing his lawn—a task he embraced not just as a chore but as a reflection of his appreciation for order, beauty, and the blessings of daily life. It was in these quiet routines that his character shone brightest: steady, contented, and deeply grounded.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Kay Emmerson; two sons, John Emmerson and Clifford Emmerson; three grandchildren—Andrew Emmerson, Brittany Vander Poel, and Connor Emmerson—and five great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy.
Jimmie's faith was central to his life. As a man of God, he lived out his beliefs through action—serving others with humility and love. His presence brought comfort to those around him and left an enduring impact on all who knew him.
May the memory of Jimmie Leon Emmerson bring peace to those who mourn him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well-lived in service to others.
