Jennye Lynn Kincaid, 82, of Merkel passed away on October 8, 2025 at Windcrest Health and Rehabilitation.
Jennye was born in Merkel, Texas on October 13, 1942 to Roy Jefferson Huffman and Annie Mae Bagley. She graduated from Merkel High School and went on to graduate nursing school in Lubbock, Texas to become an RN nurse. She was a police and fire dispatcher, a newspaper type setter and reporter for the Merkel Mail, and a moving business owner. She also worked for the Abilene State School for several years. She was a nurse for Dr. Tran working as a nurse for his practice and in her later years she worked for the Merkel Veterinary Clinic. She loved her patients whether human or animal.
Jennye was married to Billy M. Kincaid in Anson, Tx on February 14, 1991 until he passed. She was a member of the Calvery Baptist Church in Merkel, Tx.
Jennye is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and her son Donald Ray Lang.
She is survived by her son Dennis Lang and daughter in law Sarah Egstad Lang of Merkel, daughter Doris Phillips of Reno, Nevada, son Darrel “Qually” Kincaide and wife Catherine Kincaide of White Oak, Texas, one sister Kristi Ann Laquey of Blanket, Tx, 5 grandkids and several great grandkids and great-great grandkids.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in November at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Tx.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene, Tx. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Hendrick Hospice for taking such good care of Jennye.
