Jeanette Helms

May Jeanette Helms, 85 of Brownwood, Texas passed away Thursday September 17, 2020 at home. Graveside service will be held Monday, September 21st, at 10:00am at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Texas. Jeanette was born April 15, 1935 in Sweetwater, Texas to the late Bob Hurd and Leona (Ratliff) Hurd. Jeanette married Don Helms on October 24, 1952. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents Don and Leona Hurd, a daughter Ann Carol Helms, granddaughter Kimberly Diane Heinze, grandson Trenton Robinson, great grandson Barrett Branch, sister Juanita Parker and brother Doug Hines. Jeanette is survived by her husband of 67 years, Don Helms of Brownwood, son Matt Helms and wife Marina of Abilene, daughter Diane Branch and husband Ken of Weatherford, daughter Donna Heinze and husband Harold of San Antonio. Eight grandchildren Nicole Helms, Josh Helms, Craig Heinze and wife Alicia, Karis Bouillon and husband Bill, Nathan Heinze and wife Morgan, Jared Branch and wife Samantha, Andrew Branch and wife Tara, Kellye Tilford and husband Joshua, six great grandchildren and sister Bobbie Cowart. Jeanette loved her husband, her family and most of all her God. She was our prayer warrior on earth and now has an even more direct line to God. Our Mom and Granny will be missed, but we will see her soon. She ran hard, but finished the race of life with a limp (like most of us will.) She’s not limping now. Remember, we practice for what is coming. Do good.
