Jean Clair Obituary

Jean Read Clair, age 77, of Mesquite Texas, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Frisco, Texas.
 
Jean, along with her twin brother John, was born in Dallas, Texas on November 25, 1947, and later adopted by Edwin and Evelyn Read.  She went to school and graduated from Merkel High School.  Jean worked in various accounting departments for Pepsi Cola, BELO Corporation, and Avent, throughout her career, before retiring.  Jean was passionate about her grandson, Michael, the Dallas Cowboys, and fishing.  Jean remembered fondly, her years of barrel racing.  
 
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Evelyn Read, and son Michael Clair.  
 
Jean is survived by her daughter, April Clair Hadnot and husband Monte of Little Elm, Texas, her partner of 38 years, Donna Franklin of Mesquite, Texas, brother John Read and wife Fran of Panama City, Florida, grandson Michael Hadnot, niece Vivian Richards and husband Danny, and many extended family and friends. 
 
Visitation will be 10 am - 12 pm, Tuesday, October 7th, at Starbuck Funeral Home, in Merkel.  Graveside service will be held at 2 pm at Rose Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.  
 
Jean will be remembered for her love of the Dallas Cowboys, with friends and family wearing their favorite Cowboys shirts.  Casual attire welcome.  
 
Memorials may be given to the SPCA of Texas at spca.org.
The family of Jean Clair wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the ICU team at Medical City Frisco and Three Oaks Hospice, along with their church family at Genesis Metro Church, Frisco.
