James Eugene “Jim” Ohlemacher, age 77, passed from this life on October 30, 2021 at his residence in Abilene, TX. He was born in Milan, Ohio, on September 25, 1944, to Harold Fredrick Ohlemacher and Anna Mae (Balcom) Ohlemacher.
He was a retired Veteran and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and worked in Civil Service for a combined 49 years. He was a hard-working, devoted man who loved his family and his country dearly. He will be missed by many.
Jim is survived by two sons, Darren Ohlemacher and wife Brenda of San Antonio, and Chris Ohlemacher and wife Terri-Lynn of Abilene; a daughter, Kerri Martinez of San Antonio; 26 grandchildren, Courtney, Amy and her husband Austin, Elizabeth, Caroline, Michael, Madeline, Joshua and his wife Haley, Shelby and her husband John Tomas, Caleb, Samuel, David and his wife Jessica, Delaney, Presley, Jonathan, Micah, Swayzie, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Jeremiah, Gideon, Gilbert Jr., and Jennifer; 9 great-grandchildren, Jace, Lily, Liam, Emily, Annaleigh, James, Asa, Harris, and Daniel, and numerous other extended family members.
The public viewing will start at 3pm on Monday, November 8, 2021 and the visitation with the family will be from 5pm-7pm on Monday, at Starbuck Funeral Chapel in Merkel.
Jim will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Carol Ohlemacher, at 1:30pm, Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Starbuck Funeral Home.
