James Cannon Obituary

James Earl Cannon, age 71, passed from this life on September 14, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, TX. He was born on November 4, 1949 in Abilene, TX to Andrew Cannon and Edith (Rister) Cannon. He was a very talented welder. 

James could fix anything and was a jack-of-all trades. He had a passion for rebuilding cars and one of his pride and joys was his “COE”. He was an amazing fabricator and has many metal art pieces to show for it. He was a mentor and father to many, also guiding with love, honesty and great advice. James would give the shirt off his back to help others and was one of a kind. He will be missed dearly by many. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Beulah Mae (Coslow) Cannon of Clyde; four children: LaDonna Barna and husband David of Edmond, OK, Marcia Tidwell and husband Eric of Abilene, Jason Cannon of Clyde, TX and Sheila Ewing and husband Scott of Baird, TX; three brothers: Jackie Cannon and wife Francis of Merkel, Terry Cannon of Wichita Falls, TX and Mike Cannon of Eula, TX; sister: Sandra Parker of New Port, NC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren , nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4pm-6pm, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Starbuck Funeral Home. James wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Family and friends are invited to a meal at Calvary Baptist Church in Merkel, directly following the visitation.
