JB Swinney

JB Swinney, age 86, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2023.

JB was born in Mulberry Canyon to John Henry and Beulah [Harrison] Swinney on September 27, 1936. He graduated from Trent High School in May 1955. He married Dayne Ambrose on June 9, 1956, in Abilene, TX. Oil field work took them to Hobbs, NM, while JB was working for Lane Wells. He later worked for Llano Oil, and then partnered in Gearbox Filtering Service. After retiring, JB and Dayne moved to Lake Ivie, TX. He loved fishing, hunting, golf, football, and family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Johnny Swinney of Midland, TX. 

JB is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dayne [Ambrose] Swinney, his daughter Tammy Chamberlain and her husband Jon, and his son Jay Swinney and wife Martha. JB is also survived by five grandchildren: Cody Jenkins and wife Crystal, Leslee [Swinney] Schneider and husband Jason, Lauren Swinney, David Swinney, and Sam Swinney, as well as 12 great grandchildren, his sister, Syra Patterson and husband Jerry Frank.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Trent United Methodist Church in Trent, TX. Lunch will follow.
