Guy Mendel Meyer, 64, of Tye, TX passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2023 due to Pancreatic Cancer. He was born in Glen Rose, TX to Max and Gayle Meyer. They made their home in Tolar, Texas.
“Mendel” to his friends and family loved going to school in Tolar and graduated in 1977. He later went to work at Comanche Peak Nuclear plant for Brown and Root Construction in the nuclear warehouse area. During this time he met and married Ginger Johnson and they made a home in Tolar. Once his job at the plant ended, Mendel and Ginger moved to Tye, Texas and made this their home where he learned a new trade as a mechanic.
Mendel had a servant’s heart and over 30 plus years living in Tye stopped and help many people that had broken down or had a flat tire on the highway. You could say that Mendel never met a stranger. His hobbies included fishing, camping and hunting. He also studied and practiced reflexology, where he used his wife’s salon to help people not be in pain.
Mendel is survived by his wife Ginger Meyer of Tye, mother Gayle Meyer Nye, brothers: Jay and wife Attice Meyer, Aaron and wife Terri Meyer, along with many nieces and nephews from Tolar, Texas.
Graveside service will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2PM at Tye Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
