Gilbert Molina, 83, of Merkel passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He was born May 12, 1938 in Karnes City, Texas to Sisto R Molina and Feliciana Segura Molina.
Gilbert did not learn from a book, he was hands on and very life smart.
Gilbert was never married, but was very happy with his life style.
While growing up in Paint Creek he learned an incredible work ethic. He worked with his family hand picking cotton and hoeing cotton fields; he eventually began running and working on farm equipment. He moved to Haskell where he began working in the cotton gin. Gilbert enjoyed the friendships he made throughout his career, and touched each of their hearts. Gilbert enjoyed his riding mower and in his later years would mow many lawns. Gilbert took pride in his work, was famous for his work ethic and his humor.
Gilbert leaves behind his two sisters Andrea Martinez and her husband Jose Martinez, and Juanita Molina; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many memories and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sisto and Feliciana Molina, his sisters, brothers, and many others.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00PM on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Starbuck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Starbuck Funeral Home. Burial services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Willow Cemetery in Haskell.
