Gary Dale Love

Gary Dale Love, 73 of Merkel, TX passed away on June 5, 2025 in Abilene, TX.

Gary was born August 12, 1951 in Abilene, TX to Luther Charles Love and Elizabeth Lynn (Dill) Love. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1970. He married his wife of 47 years, Mary Jo (Josie) Reddin, on February 10, 1978. Retired, Gary loved spending time with his family, listening to good music and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed working on cars and supervising work on anything mechanical. Gary was very proud of his journey through sobriety which lasted the last 30 years of his life. Through this journey he healed himself and helped others reach the same goal. Most of all Gary will be remembered for being an honest, hardworking man who would help any friend in need. A loving husband to his wife, a dedicated father for his two children and a joyful Pappy to his granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

Gary Dale Love was preceded in death by his father Luther Charles Love, his mother Elizabeth Lynn Love, and his brother Rusty Love.

Gary is survived by his wife Mary Jo (Josie) Love, his son Jason Sellers, his granddaughter Zabryna Sellers, and great-granddaughter, Avaeyah Jackson, his daughter Amanda Love and husband Marc Russo, his brother Barry Love and wife Denise Love, and many nephews, nieces, friends, and loved ones.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later time.
