Freda Louise Neill, of Merkel, Texas, passed away on December 4th, surrounded by family, at a hospital in Abilene, Texas.
Freda was born in Abilene, Texas to Eldon Moutray Daniel and JoAnn (Lancelott) Daniel on October 24, 1946. She graduated from Spring Woods High School in Houston, Texas in 1965, and went on to study at Blinn College before returning to Abilene to recover from an automobile accident under the care of her parents. She met and married Farris, after a six-week courtship, on June 10, 1966 in Abilene, Texas. They were married 57 years at the time of his death in 2023. Freda retired in 2007 after many years as a bookkeeper and billing manager in the medical field. Over her lifetime, Freda spent her free time following and watching her kids and grandkids in whichever activities they were involved. She loved hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and playing video poker.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Farris Neill, and her son-in-law David Weaver.
She is survived by her children, a son Bradley Neill and daughter Ginger Weaver; her grandchildren Brittany Arnold and her husband Devin, Tyler Weaver and his wife Lauren, and T.J. Weaver and his wife Ciara; her great-grandchildren Maverick Arnold, and Sage Weaver; her siblings Gene Daniel and his wife Rhonda, Bobbye Casner and her husband Bill, and Leesa Lawrence and her husband Ken; her sisters-in law Katie Ferraro and her husband Harper Creigh, Mattie Neill and Joan Neill; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Neill, T.J. Weaver, Tyler Weaver, Devin Arnold, Mike Pointer and Gene Daniel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 20th at Fountaingate Merkel Church with Cody Cochran of Bethel Assembly of Anson officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the church sanctuary. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Family Funeral Home.
