Eugene Danielski Obituary

Eugene Danielski,81, of Merkel, TX, passed away on July 30, 2024 in Merkel, TX.

Eugene was born in Manhattan, New York to Eugene Francis Danielski and Julia Witkowski Danielski on December 1, 1942. He went to school in New York City and graduated from the Aviation High School. He married Gloria Potvin Danielski on April 20, 1974. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1980. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war. During his Air Force career he earned Air Medal w/2 OLC, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/1 Silver Cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award w/4 OLC, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After retiring he worked as a truck driver for over 20 years. He also worked at the Dyess Commissary mostly to talk to all the old retirees like himself. He was involved in the Abilene Train Club in Abilene, TX.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Julia Danielski and son Gregory Danielski.

Eugene is survived by his wife Gloria of Merkel; his son Roger Danielski and wife Pam of West Point, NE, his daughter Christina Ludwig and husband Louis stationed in Germany at this time, step-son Matt Cain and wife Kelly of Midlothian, TX, and step-son Lee Cain of Merkel, TX. His sisters: Elaine Danielski of Staten Island, NY, and Frances Danielski of Belvedere, NJ. Grandchildren: Derek, Staci, Louis, Landon, Dakota, Ashley, Austin, Aiden, and Jordan. Great-grandchildren: Kya, Kolten, Aden Christian, Raven and Charlie.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date at the Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, TX.

Memorial donations can be given to the American Red Cross.

The family of Eugene wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the employees of First Financial Bank in Merkel, TX for the help they gave him weekly. Also all the employees at the Abilene Branch of Eagle Aviation for all the support given at this time.
