Edward "Eddie" Biera

Edward Thomas Biera of Merkel, TX passed away on Wednesday July 24th, 2024 in Merkel, TX. 

Eddie was born in Hamlin, TX to Rosa Biera Whitt on October 21, 1968. He attended school in Merkel and graduated from Merkel High School. He worked in hospitality service for many years, including the Hampton Inn in Abilene and more recently the Hilton Garden Inn. 

He was an animal lover who had a natural inkling for caring for all types of pets. He will be greatly missed by his fur babies: dogs Chloe and Abby as well Pete the cat. 

Eddie was also very skilled in carpentry and crafts. He was creative in rebuilding things or creating new projects. 

Eddie will always be remembered for his considerate heart and his witty sense of humor. He was a caring friend to many. 

Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Biera Whitt, his maternal grandparents Leon and Ester Biera, his brother Jamie Whitt, aunts Cruz Ribera and Cynthia Duran, and uncle Tony Biera.

Eddie is survived by his father and stepmother, Thomas & Kathy Redeagle of Missouri, sisters Mary Roosa of Louisiana, and Regina Brill of Missouri. 

Eddie is also survived by his aunt and uncle Felix & Carmen Acuna of Merkel, aunts Esther Sayer of Washington, IL, and Mary Martinez of Abilene.

Visitation for Eddie will be Friday, August 2, 2024 from 5 to 6 PM; the recitation of the Rosary will be from 6 to 7 PM at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, August 3, 2024 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Texas.
