Dorma Shirlene (Lucas) Evans

Dorma Shirlene Evans, age 81, passed from this life on May 3, 2022 at her residence in Pierre Part, LA, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 12, 1941 in Merkel, TX to Newel Lucas and Tressie (Marshall) Lucas.

Shirlene married Jimmy Evans on February 23, 1976 and they spent 41 beautiful years together. She had a love for crafting and quilting. She will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Melinda Mabile and husband Carroll of Pierre Part, LA; daughter-in-law: Jan Bowen; sister: Christie Barnett and husband Finley of Merkel; grandchildren: Eric Dye and wife Tia, Steven Dye, Ricky Dye, Jimmy Bowen and wife Maria and Brock Bowen; 6 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog: Sammi.

She was reunited in Heaven with her parents: Newel and Tressie Lucas; husband: Jimmy Evans; son: Craig Bowen and sister-in-law: Sarah Lucas and brother: Billy Newell Lucas.

Family visitation is scheduled from 9:30-10:45am, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Starbuck Funeral Home.
