David Seymore, 76, of Merkel, Texas, passed away on May 25th, 2026.
David was the seventh of eight children born to Joe and Dolly Seymore and was raised in Mulberry Canyon, south of Merkel. He graduated from Merkel High School in 1969.
On June 19th, 1970, David married the love of his life, Dian (White) Seymore. Together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage and raised three children: Philip, Richard, and Alison Cne’. David was blessed with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Throughout his life, David was a successful business owner. David will be remembered for his strength, determination, work ethic, and love for his family. Despite every hardship he faced, he continued to fight with courage and perseverance. David was also known for his sense of humor and playful spirit, always ready with a joke or story that could make others laugh and brighten any room. His family will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and wisdom he shared throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dolly Seymore, and his son, Phillip Paul Seymore. His sisters, Betty-Jo McCoy and Becky Nan Knipe, and his brother, Connie Mack Seymore.
He is survived by his wife, Dian Seymore of Merkel, Texas; his daughter, Alison Cne Davis (Justin) of Cedar Park, Texas; his son, Richard Seymore of Merkel, Texas; his brothers, Riley Seymore (Jean) of Abilene, Texas, and Phil Seymore (Evelyn) of Abilene, Texas; and his sisters, Malinee Harman (Alan) of Lubbock, Texas, and Melba Fisher of Merkel, Texas.
He is also survived by his five granddaughters, Karrus Dickey, McKayla Corpus, Tristen Bragg, Baylee Seymore, and Brooklyn McFarlane; one grandson, Cutter Davis; five great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.

Visitation will be held at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel, Texas, on May 29th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church on May 30th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Texas.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and loved ones who supported David throughout his health journey.
