David Oneil Burkes, 66, of Merkel passed away Monday, January 14, 2019.
David was born July, 18, 1952 in Matador, Texas to Nobel and Pauline (Addison) Burkes. He enjoyed bull riding as well as watching bull riding and the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his his wife Oleta Brenem of Merkel; Sons Justin Burkes of Cleveland, Texas and Jason Burkes of Soddy Daisey, Tennessee; stepchildren Jennifer Lowery of Abilene and Johnathan Brenem of Trent; 12 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Shane and one grandson.
