Dana Jean Wilburn

Dana Jean Wilburn, 73, of Merkel passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Merkel Nursing Center. She was born on February 10, 1948 to Ralph Edgar and Lillie Lenora (Stroud) Wilburn in Merkel. Dana graduated from Abilene High School in 1966. She worked in financial services for American Express and for many years as a travel agent. She enjoyed travelling. Dana is survived by her sons Steve Williams of Indianapolis, Indiana and David Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska; four granddaughters, and one great grandson; and brothers Mac Wilburn of Haltom City, Texas, Ed Wilburn of Burnett, Texas, Pete Wilburn of Merkel, Texas and Glen Wilburn of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Jody Wilburn, Jerry Wilburn and Waymon Wilburn. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
