Clay Walter Guynes, 38, of Merkel, passed away on October 8, 2024 in Merkel, Texas.
Clay was born in Abilene, Texas to James Douglas and Judy Guynes on April 22, 1986. He went to school in Ozona and graduated from Ozona High School. Clay has a degree in welding from Cisco Jr College. Clay loved to plow for his Uncle Gaylon.
Clay was preceded in death by his father Douglas Guynes, nephew Hayze Tyler Maldonado, grandparents Jimmy & Bernell Guynes of Early, and Tommy & Christine Diltz of Merkel.
Clay is survived by his mother Judy Guynes of Merkel, brother Cody Guynes and wife Christina of Kermit, sister Cristi and husband Justin Maldonado of Abilene, nieces and nephews, Tristan Cano, LeeAnn Schaller, Hunter Guynes, and Ellum Maldonado. Aunt and uncle Gaylon & Donna Brnovak of Merkel, Aunt Kathleen Wilborn of Early, Uncle Billy & Claudia Diltz of Abilene and many close cousins.
Celebration of Life will be 3:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, October 13th at The Table, 122 Edwards St, in Merkel.
