Charlotte Rae Alexander

Charlotte Rae Alexander, 76, of Abilene went to be with her Lord and Savior, and many loved ones who have gone before her on October 7, 2022.  Charlotte was born in Junction, TX on July 26, 1946 to Virginia Frances Ross and Scott Alexander.  She married Robert Junior Williams on October 9, 1962.  They had 2 children.  She later married Billy Tubbs in Ingram, TX and had one child.  

Charlotte was a Christian woman with a kindred spirit who enjoyed being with her family.  She always had a smile and a kind word.  Charlotte was known as mom to her children, Sugar to her grandchildren, and Chatzy to her many nieces and nephews.  She was a strong, beautiful and caring soul, who will be missed by many.

She began her career working in Mental Health Services in 1986.  She retired due to health complications in 2016.  

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Robert Dwain Williams, and one grandson Shawn Patrick Shipman.

Charlotte is survived by two daughters: Sheri Shipman, husband Jay, of Merkel and Miranda Tubbs of Ingram.  Five grandkids and seven great grandkids.  One sister, Barbara Alexander, of Abilene, two brothers Ronny Alexander and wife Michele, of Abilene and Roger Ely, of Merkel.   

Family visitation will be in Starbucks Funeral Home at 201 Edwards St., Merkel, Texas on Tuesday, October 11 from 5-7pm.  Funeral services will be held at Starbucks Memorial Chapel at 2pm Wednesday, October 12th, under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
