Charles Wesley Mashburn Jr. (“Chock”), 92, of Abilene, Texas passed away on April 10, 2025 in Abilene, Texas. Chock was born in Stith, Texas to Wesley and Ida Peterson Mashburn on August 2, 1932. Chock went to school at Stith and graduated from Merkel High School. He married Jane Harris on September 28, 1957 in Tye, Texas. Chock worked as an acoustical ceiling installer at Harris Acoustics for 35 years. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jane, granddaughter Misty Mashburn and great granddaughter Cheyenne Mashburn. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Louise Norton, Gladys Richardson, Doris Hogan, Dorothy Brinlee, Nita Gilmore, Bette Bates and twin sister Charlene Patrignani. He is survived by his son Charles Alan Mashburn and wife Linda of Clyde, Texas, grandson Wesley Mashburn of Abilene, Texas and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Starbuck Funeral Home, 201 Edwards St. Merkel, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Wedesday, April 16, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Stith Cemetery 9700 FM 605, Stith, Texas. Graveside service will be officiated by Kelley and Cindy Kendrick. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home, Merkel, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Stith Cemetery Association, C/O Tonja Jordan, 4450 Ridgemont Dr. Apt. 1526, Abilene, Tx 79606.
