Carl Eugene Stewart, age 89, of Merkel, Texas passed away October 10, 2021. He was born on October 7, 1932 to Carl and Virginia Stewart in Casey, Illinois.
Carl was a very caring person, who loved helping anyone in need. His caring heart also led him to join the Army. Throughout his life, Carl did many different things such as being a cab driver, mechanic, and headstone maker, and a very good one at that. Carl lived in Merkel, Texas for 25 years where he was known to have a nice looking yard. He also enjoyed growing tomatoes and tending to his rose bushes. Anyone who knew him would say he was a very organized man.
Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Jean (Insmangen) Stewart, son Dickey Joe Stewart, daughters Eugenia Dianne Brandstetter, Janet Renea Boykin, Connie Lou Ostrander, and Misty Marie Stewart, sister Phyllis Robinson, and parents Carl and Virginia Stewart.
Carl is survived by his sons Carl Leon Stewart and Carl Franklin Jr., daughters Cindy Lee Glasco, Dana Dayle Hood, Theresa Lynn Gaddis, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Carl will be held at a later date.
