Beverly Bryan Obituary

Beverly Ann Bryan, age 84, and resident of Stamford for over 70 years, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Harmony Care at Stamford.

She was born in Brady, TX on May 11, 1940 to Clyde Tilmon and Alpha Olegha Ake. She was married to Johnny Lee Bryan for over 47 years. The couple married on August 28, 1964.

In her younger years she lived in Brady, TX, California and Stamford. Stamford is where she spent the majority of her childhood. Beverly and Johnny lived in Merkel, Abilene, Brownwood and Lansing, Michigan before making Stamford, Texas their permanent home.

She was a faithful member of the Family Church of Christ in Stamford.

During her professional journey, she worked at the Timex Store (where she met her husband), as a library aide and a cafeteria worker at the school, and at the Stamford Museum. Her main job was a homemaker as she raised four boys.

She had a servant’s heart and loved her volunteer work at the Stamford Hospital, Pink Ladies, Meals on Wheels, and in many capacities at Church serving Meals and teaching Bible Class. Her favorite hobby was gardening, she could grow almost anything. She was an active member of the garden club until her failing health prevented it. She loved family reunions and rarely ever missed. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Beverly is survived by three sons, David Bryan of Abilene, Michael Bryan and wife Amber of Merkel, and Greg Bryan of Wichita Falls, four grandchildren: Jenna Bradberry and husband Joseph of Merkel, Cary Bryan of Merkel, John Bryan of Abilene, and Katelynn Bryan of Abilene, and five great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Julian, Jettson Bradberry, and Chase and Cameron Bryan all of Merkel. She is also survived by one brother, Delton Ake of Waxahachie, one sister, Phyllis McCorkle and husband Ed of Abilene, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Byron Ake, her sister-in-law Betty Ake and her son Doug Bryan.

Beverly was loved and will be missed.
