Annie Brenem Obituary

Annie Mae Brenem, age 87, of Trent, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 30, 2025. She was born on February 28, 1938, in Eula, Texas, to Amos Jackson Morris and Ella Ray Walters. Annie was 1 of 12 children and grew up surrounded by her large, loving family.

In 1954, she married the love of her life, Curtis Brenem, in Trent, Texas. Together, they raised three children: Rocky, Shirley, and Doyle. Annie’s heart was full of love for her family, and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, often surrounded herself with laughter and joy.

Annie worked for 25 years as the cafeteria cook at Trent ISD, where she fed many children and teachers over the years. She took pride in her work, often bringing a smile to those around her with her delicious meals.

A woman of many passions, Annie loved playing bingo, visiting casinos, fishing, cooking, and traveling. She found joy in spending time with friends and family, and her warm spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Annie is survived by her son, Rocky and wife Mary Brenem of Trent, TX; daughter, Shirley Romero of Liberty, TX; grandchildren Mandy Brenem, Ricky and wife Mellessa Brenem, Dustin Dagle, and Kaleb Brenem; great-grandchildren Billy and wife Ashanti Hill, Morgan Hill, Kamren Brenem, Kashlee Brenem, and Georgia MayLynn Brenem; her brothers, Clifton and wife Kay Morris, and Gary Lynn and wife Sheila Morris; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Ella Morris; her husband, Curtis Brenem; and her son, Curtis Doyle Brenem. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Lena Jackson, Rose Nell Chase, Joyce Doan, Alice Chacon, Brenda Boyd, Jean Holt, and brothers David Morris and Stanley Morris.

A graveside service to honor Annie Mae Brenem will be held on April 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Trent Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Bryan, Bill Brazelton, Cody Johnson, Wilson Stephens, Erik Hargett, and Kris McGlothlin.

Family extends their deepest appreciation to Dr. Hirsch and Kinder Hearts Home Health and Hospice nurses, aids and with special appreciation to Judy Gibson.
