Alene Frances Carter, 96, of Abilene formerly of Noodle passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 18, 2020. She was born to William Richard Cox and Evelyn Claretta (Woolen) Cox. She married the love of her life Tip Carter on September 12, 1942.
Alene loved being a mother, southern gospel music, cooking, working in the yard, and looking at the world through a windshield in a car going fast.
Alene is survived by her children David (Donna) Carter of Merkel, Diane (Mike) Easley) of Abilene, Larry (Shelli) Carter of Flint, Steven (Betty) Carter of Merkel, Eddie (Zana) Carter of Benton, Arkansas, Roger Carter of Divide, Susan (David) Acuna of Abilene, and Cathy (Jerry) Vinson of Merkel; sister Marie Nichols of Ft. Worth; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Alene was preceded in death by her Husband Tip; parents; son Kenneth Carter; brothers Bill Cox and Don Cox and a great-great-granddaughter Rowan Easley.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
