Lois Pruitt Obituary

Lois Fay Dunlap Pruitt passed away December 19, 2018 with her loving family surrounding her. She was born in Eastland, TX on March 8, 1932.

In 1949 Lois married Rayburn Argyle Pruitt and embarked on a long and loving journey of life together for 69 years. Lois and Rayburn spent their early years in Abilene raising their children Patricia and Ray. However it was in the 1970's when they moved to "the place" in the hills surrounded by Castle Peak and Buzzard Peak south of Merkel. It was there Lois found her peace and joy. She loved the serenity of the mountains, the wildlife and embraced watching her grandchildren play, grow and enjoy the country and the home place she so adored.

Lois was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Patricia Carter and husband Rayburn Pruitt. She is survived by her family. This includes her brother Jeff Dunlap and wife Jackie, Abilene, TX; her son Ray Pruitt and wife Cynthia, Powell, TX; Emily Carrington and husband Robert, Rockwall, TX; and son-in-law Larry Carter of Bryan, TX. Five grandchildren: Chris Carter and wife Kathy, April Holt and husband Steven, Jennifer Locke and husband Brad, Emily Warren and husband Jeremy and Lance Pruitt and wife Morgan plus eight great-grandchildren.
